I really want some old fashioned tissue Christmas Decorations. Both the long garlands and the honeycomb style eg candles, bells etc. Prices are going through the roof on e bay. Is there anywhere in the uk that sell them, either genuine 50’s ones or replicas. (not the metallic ones, only paper ones) Thankyou.

You would only find authentic ones on second hand market stalls and retro stores. They have acquired rarity value because they spoilt easily and most people discarded them when they were damaged or dirtied. The same applies to authentic blown glass decorations that now cost a fortune. One rarely sees that sort of thing in charity shops. Many have gone all trendy and most now limit themselves to nearly new goods, rejecting articles that they consider unappealing and that will not bring money because soiled or unfashionable. It is not the time of the year for car boot sales, which might yield something, but may be a covered antique market might.

There are other sites but they are in the USA and charge in dollars. Shipping would be extra and British customs also charge duty on arrival. I bought some ornaments last year and the custom charge added another twenty pounds to the overall cost even though they were second hand and had originally been made in Europe.

My husband and I want to put lights outside on our house this year for Christmas. Just wondering what the approximate cost would be to have an outlet installed. Thanks.

Angelia, since the cost of material and labor greatly varies by location, you should definitely get a licensed electrician to install the outside outlet.

I have looked everywhere and I can not find any Christmas Lights anymore that has mulitcolored lights that blink to christmas music. Anyone know where or how I can find them?

I have always been interesting in learning how to play the piano ever since I got Mixed Chorus in high school, the teacher would just walk over to where the grand piano was sit down and look at sheet music and starting playing making no mistakes at all, I would be so amazed at his playing from Whitney Houston to Keyshia Cole, to Christmas songs around Christmas time, I wanna be able to play like him, but I wanna teach myself to play without going to college, in the past I used to pranctice playing the piano, I have an electic keyboard with a key lighting system, one of the songs I have been memorized is Greensleaves, before I mastered that song I used to make all kinds of mistakes, now that I have been mastered the song I can go to the keyboard standing or sitting and start playing with out making no mistakes.

I got an adapter off of ebay for christmas and now i cant figure out how to install it i have a linksys wifi thing up stairs and my 360 is downstairs and whenever i plug it in a red light comes on I dont have any instructions for it and i need help desperetly because i dont want to waste around $100

go to the system settings then Connection or W/E and it should be in an area where it lets you choose a wireless connection in Range, if that doesent work, like mine didn;t the first time, you may have a faulty Wireless Adapter, mine was faulty but then i exchanged it for a new one.

Would it be better to use the Christmas Lights that come in tinted shades and give off a soft light orange light as opposed to white light or other colors? I don’t want it to look like a Christmas decoration/theme or look tacky. Also, what are some safety precautions to keep in mind when decorating with them? Are they a fire hazard if draped over fabric, for instance?

I have often decorated tall indoor plants with those tiny white lights. They give off a soft light that doesn’t look particularly Christmasy. I usually leave them on throughout the nite as they light the way to other parts of the house when all is dark in the middle of the night.

I wouldn’t use them over fabric for any length of time as they might scorch the fabric if it came into direct contact.
