Does Christmas lights drive up the electric bill more than regular lights?
I was planning to hang Christmas tree lights on my one wall and use them like i would a lamp or something. I know alot of people say Christmas Lights will drive up electric, but is that true for when I’m using it as the only light source for the room, opposed to like having a lit tree and lamps running etc etc.

I’m guessing that a Christmas tree bulb is 5-watts.
So, the math should be easy.
How many lights will you be using — and what will you be replacing?
20 bulbs would be the same as a 100-watt light bulb.
BUT — If you get LED bulbs — the wattage is far less and you can use far more!
