Mine came down on New Year’s Day…It depends on personal preference. I saw on the news that a woman is keeping hers up until her son returns from Afghanistan. (which I thought was thoughtful.)

I think the end of January would be pushing it, but it depends what kind you have. If they are white lights, than it could be like snow or something so that could be an excuse. People who still have their lights up in February show that they are too lazy to take them down.

Recent tradition says that they should be taken down on Epiphany (January 6th). But in olden times they used to leave them up until February, which I understand is still the case in Italy. I am all in favour of leaving them up as long as possible.
