How much energy do icicle Christmas Lights use?

My roomate has about 5 strings hanging in his room for his light source and im going to try to convince him to take them down but i need some solid facts first.

It would be really helpful to know some figures on it in watts per time, or how much more electricity it uses compared to a regular light bulb. Anything helps. The amount of money it costs more per month compared to a lightbulb would also be a great statistic to know.

Thanks a lot.

It’s pretty simple math. Go to a store that sells them and read the box. It should say how many watts it uses. Most brands use between 24 and 67 watts per string. The commercial lights usually use less energy because they are made with heavier wire for less electrical resistance. You can also buy LED icicle lights that use even less electricity.
